Demonstrations:
City of Bloomington Taste of Japan event
2008 event: Saturday, March 1st at 6:00 pm
Bloomington Civic Plaza
For the past several years, Kobukan students and instructors have given a demonstration (approximately 30 minutes) as part of the fundraising event for the Bloomington Sister City Organization. Izumi City in Japan is the Sister City, and the event features Japanese arts and entertainment, Japanese dinner, and Silent Auction. Dragon Festival at Phalen Park, St. Paul

Lantern Lighting Festival at Como Park, St. Paul
2008 event: Sunday, August 17, 4:00 - dusk
The Kobukan has a strong tradition of demonstrations at the Lantern Lighting Festival. We typically give several demonstrations near our booth throughout the afternoon, as well as one demonstration on the martial arts stage. Check the booth for times or just stop by to chat! The Lantern Lighting Festival is St. Paul's Sister City festival with Nagasaki. See the Como Park events website for more information on the festival as it becomes available, and be sure to stay for the lighting of the lanterns.

Introductory Courses: We now have Introductory Courses on Mondays from 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm, as well as on Saturdays from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm. These are 8-week courses at a cost of $45 for the entire course. Contact us if you are interested in attending to get full details. Each course will cover similar material.
